Buckingham Palace has announced that Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, has given birth to a baby boy according to the announcement, the boy was birthed at the early hours of May 6.
The boy, who is the first child of Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry, was delivered at 5:26 am, and according to the announcement, he weighs 7lbs. 3oz. <.strong> While the palace didn’t confirm exactly where the baby boy was delivered, they did say that the Prince was by his wife’s side.
At his first public sighting since becoming a father, an emotional Prince Harry told reporters that both the baby and his mother are “doing incredibly well.”
He added, “How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension, but we’re both absolutely thrilled and so grateful for all the love and support from everybody out there. I’m so incredibly proud of my wife. As every father and parent would say, your baby is absolutely amazing. But this little thing is absolutely to die for, so I’m just over the moon.”
Harry said that he and his wife were still thinking about their son’s name. He added, “The baby’s a little bit overdue so we’ve had a little bit of time to think about it, that’s the next bit. For us, we’ll be seeing you guys [in] probably two days’ time as planned,” he added.
The boy is the eighth great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II, and the seventh in line to the throne; after Prince Charles, Prince William and his three children (Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis), and Prince Harry.
