Idris Elba and his beautiful wife Sabrina Dhowre said their vows in three-day Marrakesh wedding a few months back. Now, fresh off the newlywed moniker, both of them covered the July edition of Vogue and dished on a wide array of topics, including their first meeting and how they’ve been able to keep their relationship alive.
In the issue, the couple spoke about how they chose to tie the knot in Morocco because both their families are from East and West Africa, and since Morocco is in the middle, it seemed only fair to literally meet there. While they do a lot of traveling as individuals, the couple has also found a special way to stay close.
Idris spoke about how they met back in 2017. He was filming a movie titled, “The Mountain Between Us/,” and their eyes immediately locked when he went into a jazz bar in Vancouver.
He said, “It was love at first sight.”
The couple also spoke on a wedding they were invited to attend last year; that of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Speaking on the event, Idris said, “That was an incredible experience. I was curating the music for that night, so it was a bit of pressure, but it was great. A vibe.”
