June Ubi is a bold and vivacious British Nigerian artist with the sole intention of rocking your world through her eclectic Afrobeats inspired sound. Her sound pays homage to her Delta State heritage and London upbringing blending English, Urhobo and Igbo dialect in her songs. She channels musical influences such as Fela Kuti, King Sunny Ade and Sir Shina Peters through her fresh, energetic and vibrant sound. Her music largely focuses on her life experiences making her relatable and inspiring – especially for young people.
June Ubi’s style, like her sound is a hybrid of African and British cultural influences. She’s an Afropolitan princess and uses prints and colours to communicate her personality with her audience. June Ubi’s style message is one of individualism – doing you no matter what and looking good while you’re doing it. Her ultimate goal as a musician is to entertain and inspire!
June will be completing an industry tour of Nigeria for the next fortnight, including a feature on Beats FM! So if you do catch up with her, remember where you heard of her first!
