Tony Stark is apparently a fan of OnePlus!
Earlier this week, OnePlus, the Chinese maker of premium smartphones unveiled its latest marketing campaign, which featured legendary actor Robert Downey Jr.
The campaign has been confirmed to be long-term, and it will reportedly focus on OnePlus’ “Never Settle” philosophy and the revolutionary role that the brand is looking to play in the global smartphone industry.
OnePlus recently launched the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro smartphones globally, and Downey Jr. is expected to play a pivotal role in generating sales. Speaking on the partnership with Downey Jr., Pete Lau, the company’s CEO and founder, said that the ideologies of exceptional experience and laser focus resonated with the actor, pointing to his dedication and creativity.
He added, “This synergy has us convinced that nobody could represent what we stand for better and we are delighted to welcome Robert Downey Jr. into the OnePlus”
Downey Jr. also spoke on the partnership, saying, “It’s cool to see a young brand disrupting the tech landscape. I was challenged to help them create an authentic campaign based on the tenets of quality and craftsmanship, and it’s already proving to be a great fit creatively. In checking out the upcoming OnePlus 7 Pro, the attention to detail, coupled with the innovative design, was truly impressive.”
According to the brand, this ad campaign will begin at the launch of the OnePlus 7 Series, and it will appear in various creative and across multiple media in China (the company’s primary market) and India.
Downey Jr. has already been affiliated with HTC in the past, partnering with the company back in 2013 for a 2-year, $12 million ad campaign. Given his popularity (especially in China, where his role as Iron Man has gained him a legion of adoring fans), this partnership is set to be mutually beneficial for both parties.
