Saoen grew up knowing she wanted to achieve 5 things in
life; a successful music career, work with kids, be an ambassador, own a
fashion line and be the best mum to my kids and wife to my husband. She started
listening to music at a very tender age and it still makes her feel safe.The entirety of music
is such a beautiful thing…from the beat, to the lyrics, to the melodies,
to the underbellies… Music is Life
Saeon comes from a family of singers (though not professionals), “ We even got nick-named ‘The Oni Family Singers’ after a while”. She wrote her first song at the age of 13 and since then, its been an
unending journey, she got on stage for the first time when I
was 15 and remembers thinking to herself “this is what I really wanna do”.
Her mother gave her the altermatum that she could do music, but I only after a masters degree. She got the Master’s Degree in International Relations with specialization on Terrorism and Counter Terrorism and The CIA’s Covert Activities
Saoen has recorded songs such as “We Are One”, “I’ll Be Gone”,
“Recover From You”, “My Man” and a cover/remix/reply to Brymo’s “Ara” which
have all collectively given her a boost into the Nigerian Music Industry.
The highlights of her career include winning the first ever Underground title as the “Queen of The Underground”; contesting with thousands of UK based artists in the MTV UK Brand New
Unsigned competition from December 2011 – January 2012, Performing at the
Thisday Awards 2012 in front of former President Bill Clinton and Cherie
Blair and at the 2012 Arise Magazine Fashion Week.
Saeon is a strong believer of hard work, dedication and going through the
process and she intends on using these three as guidelines in her quest to share
her Gift to the world.
